Dell India — insufficient knowledge on dell products by sales representative | |||
I happen to buy a dell inspiron 15 5000 series product at kamanhalli branch (Dell exclusive). My one and most important criteria before i bought the product was to have a "international warranty". I did visit hp where the sales person of hp clearly mentioned of the unavailability of the international warranty. However the dell representative in kamanahalli branch claimed to have a international warranty for model inspiron 15 5000 series. After buying the product and checking on dell portal with the service code, it was crystal clear that there is no international warranty for this model. Upon raising my concern to the sales representative, i was informed that it was a mistake from their side as they weren't aware of this. Why was the product sold with incorrect information if the sales representative wasn't sure of the warranty availability? I was asked to pay extra 1000 ruppes for upgrading it to international warranty. Why would one buy a product that doesn't serves the purpose and buy extra money so that now it serves the purpose. Dell service center should take the ownership for the mistake and secondly of not being aware of the product details. I am not quite sure, how many people have been duped with such incorrect information for the purpose of sales. I see a major integrity issue here.
