Dell — Laptop warranty and service | |||||
Hi The laptop inspiron i purchased from dell in 2014 in usa. Laptop did not power on suddenly from march 2016. I called technical support of dell. They asked me to check ram and battery. I said i cannot do it. So they asked me to first transfer the laptop registration to india and then visit the nearby service centre. They said tag transfer will take 8 to 10 days. It took 33 days. The neraby service centre (I am based in vizianagaram) is in hyderabad -700 kms away. I requested some help for trouble shoot atleast to know what the problem is. On may 3rd they told me that a person will come and trouble shoot my issue and it will cost rs 1500. I refused this offer. A week later they informed me that i can try in vizag service centre (60 kms) away from my place. I was not able to go to service center until june first. When i visited the place they said warranty expired on may 29th. They refused even to trouble shoot my problem. I mailed to customer service after coming back to my place. I did not get any response for any of mails. I called them multiple times on customer service number. Each time i explained the case i was transferred to another dept or disconnected the call. They promised me to call me back but did not call me on any of the three disconnected calls. Problem is 1. They do not have any service centre to trouble shoot problem 2. They do not respond to emails 3. They do not provide complete solutions on phone Worst thing is 1. Customer service does not listen to you and they agressively lie. 2. They bully the customer forcing him to say the fault is with customer 3. The internal report does not match their communication to customer. They are not willing to share the recorded conversations. 4. Warranty terms and conditions are very strange and read carefully 5. You will get standard response - service centre has 1000 problems. We have no control on them. Tag transfer is done by some other team, we are not responsible for the delay, this is problem with another dept and not mine and they will hang the call My experience was very bad. I decided to email the complaints to michael dell, the ceo of the company. My sincere advise is do not buy dell products unless you have a service centre. If any complaint is not resolved fast escalate to vice presdient, directors and heads of depts of dell india Was this information helpful? | |||||
