[Resolved]  DishTV — complaint not resolved for more than 20 days and even after 4 times technician visit

The problem started some 20 days back when some of the channels were not coming on my television and only one small grey spot shown on left side up corner on my television although the dishtv sign on right side down corner is very much clear. This happens for some of channels and other channels were coming normally. When I called customer care they did some troubleshooting and thanks to him all channels went blank. He said that the antenna is faulty you have to change it. But on my complaint he booked a technician visit next day who did nothing but realignment of antennae and the problem was resolved for the moment.

It went well for 3-4 days but the problem reoccured. Now the setup box show channels for sometime (say 5 minutes, 15 minutes sometime even 2 hrs) and then it goes blank, same grey spot and now for all channels. When we restart the system it again start normally but after sometime it goes blank again. This time technician came and told that there is problem in adaptor, he changed adaptor but the problem remained. Then he removed hdmi cable and sold us a video cable saying that the problem was with hdmi cable. The then it solved the problem temporarily but the problem occur again after 2 hrs.

Again another technician came and he told that there is no problem with hdmi cable and he replaced the hdmi cable. Then he tried another setup box but the problem was not resolved. He told us that there is fault in my television. You first get your tv repaired then we will see the problem. We went to service centre, and there engineers kept our tv under observation for a day and diagnosed that there is no problem with our tv.

This time when technician came he told us that there is no fault with our tv but unless he himself see the problem, he can't suggest anything. He also told us that he will change the setup box the next day as he doesn't have spare setup box. Surprisingly the dish tv went well without any trouble for 2 days although the technician did nothing but after that problem reoccur.

Now the setup box refused to show anything although it shows booting but then it went blank and again show booting. Now the technician without coming without diagnosing the problem tell us over phone that he will change the setup box and it will be chargeable. When we told that first the problem should be resolved then only we will pay anything, he refused to come and now the technician is not picking up the phone.

I am being harassed by your complaint management system, your incompetent technicians and your customer complaint personals. I want that the problem first should be diagnosed properly, remedy should be suggested the sytem should be kept under observation and then the complaint should be closed. In previous occasions also the complaint was clsoed without our feedback, this is so unprofessional from a company like dishtv.

For the past 20 days we are not able to see any channels but are being charged for each day. Look into this matter as most urgent otherwise I have to change the operator.

Sorry for writing this late. First of all a big thanks to this forum because of which my voice was heard. I got a call from Dish TV within a day after I posted the complaint on this forum mentioning about this complaint and the problem is resolved within two days by simply changing the setup box with a new improved setup box (without VC card). I waited for this long to see that the problem should not reoccur, but now I think the problem is resolved. Thank you Consumer Complaints forum.
