I was surfing the the India Today website on[protected] when a pop up advertisement appeared showing JBL flip speaker on offer for Rs1999/- with 10% discount on online payment.JBL flip wireless speaker is a top quality speaker with stereo effect and wireless blue tooth connectivity.The shopping site Flipspeakers claimed clearance sale at this price.The picture in the ad clearly showed JBL Iogo on the speaker. considering the offer attractive, I clicked on the site upon which i was taken to the order site of the merchant flipspeakers.com for completing the order formalities. On completion of this I was taken to the payment gateway payUMoney for completing the payment. The price quoted with the discount came to Rs1799.10 which was paid online through Axis Bank credit card.The payment success was confirmed by payUMoney through their email of[protected].I also received the confirmation of the order from the flipspeakers simultaneously quoting order no FS33887 by email.Next day flipspeakers confirmed the shipment of the speaker. Both these messages showed the picture of JBL flip speaker as the item ordered.
I received the item on[protected] and opened the package. It was found that the speaker was not JBL flip speaker but TG113 speaker of China make.This is an inferior speaker compared to JBL speaker and is available for about Rs 500/- in the market.I therefore made a message to return the item and get refund of the amount paid on the same day[protected]. This mail was also made copy to the payment gateway site payUMoney. There has been no reply to this message. Another message was made on[protected] for which also there was no reply.I also visited the merchant web site and raised two messages through their contact mail proforma on the site. There has been no response to these messages as well.Even the toll free contact number of the site [protected] is unreachable and appears to be defunct.
It is therefore evident that the merchant flipspeakers.com has cheated me by supplying a sub standard speaker instead of the ordered and shown JBL flipspeaker thereby incurring a loss of about Rs1300/-. Action may please be taken on the merchant as deemed proper.
