Gic Housing Finance — home loan takeover charges 2% | |||||
Complaint: gic does not disclose the charges upfront and do not issue bill receipt upfront while doing card transactions. Charges 2% of the outstanding balance while performing home loan transfer to another bank. Background: On nov 22, 2017 i requested for foreclosure statement for transferring my home loan from gic hf to sbi. They asked me to come again after 15 days to collect the document. On dec 11, 2017 when i went to collect the foreclosure document the ms radhika charged me rs 600 just for giving the foreclosure document. On jan 3, 2018 i went to the gic office again with the approved outstanding balance cheque issued by sbi to settle the loan. The charged me 2% of the outstanding loan amount and also jan month interest. Earlier when i went to collect the foreclosure document they informed me that the current foreclosure letter is valid till next emi date i. E. 10 jan, 2018. However on jan 3, 2018 when i went to submit foreclosure check, i have been charged for the interest rate of jan.in total gic charged me excess of 46251 rupees for opting to transfer loan from their entity to different organization. When no other bank charges excess amount for balance transfer gic is still practicing this. Also during my entire conversation they have not even proposed to reduce the interest rate to retain the customer. Extremely unfriendly staff. I request help in getting the excess amount paid to be refunded.
