Godrej Interio — unethical behavior and refusal to issue receipt for payment and warranty documents of modular kitchen

Dear Godrej Kitchen Décor team

Undersigned is an unfortunate non resident customer destined to place an order for a Godrej Interio modular kitchen with your Kayamkulam branch recently.

In last may 1st week we visited your above branch, fixed the design with Mr. Felix and quoted a prize of Rs.2, 75, 000/- for the specifications we agreed with . As advised I gave PDC for Rs. 1, 38, 000 /-.The 2nd payment for Rs.1, 37, 000/- to be made on time of delivery I am told. For installation assistance etc. I gave the contact of my contractor Mr. Rajiv.

Couple of days later Mr. Felix called and told that there is calculation mistake happened in the quote and I have to pay an additional Rs.10000/- cash to include an agreed semicircular basket in one corner. My wife informed him the basket is not required and agreed to proceed with the same amount 2.75 Lakhs.

In order to sign the initial agreement (copy attached) I specifically told them to send it by mail and I will revert the signed copy in by return mail in colour. Several query mails and Whatsapp message I sent to them for the agreement but all in vain for long. Later they informed that they got the agreement signed by a site worker named Santhosh on my behalf and he also made a cash payment of Rs. 10.000/-. Both without my knowledge. When I questioned this action a lady of the branch resorted shouting in abusing language and banged the telephone.

Again I was told to hand over a PDC for Rs.1, 27, 000/-(adjusting above10000Rs.) immediately otherwise the agreement will be cancelled. They told the delivery expected on 30.7.2018 and PDC to be given with that date and same given. During this period I received several calls from different persons from Godrej. I regret to inform you that except one Mr. Sathish (once) all other ladies were talking to me in a very abusing language ( recordings will be produced as the situation warrants) as if I did fatal mistake.

In mid July again these ladies started calling and sending mail (copy of mails attached are self explanatory) saying that the consignment coming on 18th July and I have to arrange cash on that date. Otherwise it will be send back to Mumbai and I will loose the full advance amount paid.

Later on 30th July they draw the balance amount without any intimation and delivered the items a week afterwards.

Now I understands that the installation is still not completed ( chimney etc. still in packet) and some dummy covers are missing . Moreover they have not yet given any receipt or bill for the purchase and any papers to guarantee the 15 years warranty promised in agreement .

I do hope that a reputed firm like M/s. Godrej décor will take prompt action for the redressal of my grievance and revert soon in a reasonable period. Otherwise I am left with no option other than taking up with consumer/civil courts and to warn a possible number of friends about this inappropriate deal through all available social media sources .
