HDFC Bank — negative balance deducted due to not maintaining minimum balance | |||
Account/customer id: [protected] My salary account with hdfc was converted to saving account in 2012 but in march 2019 rs 2700 was deducted for not maintaining the minimum balance. I called customer care they said i hv to pay the amount. I learned that many customers are harassed like this to pay the amount but they got the refund after they complaint regarding the same. For credit cards, loans etc they call us so many time but before deducting the the amount there was no call. How is that fair practice. Also, it's been more than 6 yrs my account was converted to saving why deducting the amount now. I want the refund. Was this information helpful? | |||

Verified Support Jun 25, 2019 HDFC Bank Customer Care's response Dear Customer, In the event of no salary credits in the Salary Account for any continuous three months, the Bank reserves the right to change the status of Salary Account to Savings Regular Account without any intimation to the account holder/me and the Terms & Conditions as applicable to the HDFC Bank Savings Regular Account shall apply to this account from the date of change of status.
