[Resolved]  HDFC Bank Ergo General Insurance — Not followed their promise to settle the major loss in 30 days

As per the policy of the of the M/s HDFC the major claim is settled in 30 days (given in FAQ’s), clearly given in FAQ’s which is the major tool to get understand about the Co. and their policy handling system which helps in attracting the surfer to buy the policy. From the very same day of the vehicle accident I am regular in touch with the persons related to M/s Hyundai/HDFC/IAR Insurance Surveyor & Loss to settle the claim timely, but none of them cared/bother for me (the sufferer).

as per the norms of M/s HDFCergo the claim related to major loss given IN FAQ'S :
How long will it take to process my claim?
• If you take your vehicle to any one of the garages empanelled by us, you benefit from cashless repair service. You simply pay a small sum towards depreciation, consumable items billed by the repairer and compulsory excess. Once your vehicle is repaired, sign the satisfaction voucher acknowledging that you're satisfied with the repairs, and you can drive away without any further hassle. The garage will take care of all the other formalities.
• Should you take your vehicle to a garage of your choice, you will have to first pay the repair cost and then submit the bills and cash memos to us for reimbursement. We will check the bills and repay you the amount spent on repairing the accident damages only, as per the terms and conditions of your policy.
• However, if your vehicle meets with a major accident and the repair costs exceed 75% or more of the insured value; the claim settlement process may take up to 30 days.
• If the entire vehicle is stolen and cannot be recovered, we would use the help of a specialist investigator to try and trace the vehicle, and obtain the necessary documents from the police. This could take up to 60 days and will depend on your co-operation in getting the necessary documents


On 5th june 2015 mail received from the representative of M/s IAR Insurance Surveyor & Loss and more than 100 calls were made by me & informed (telephonically and via mail) him very well that I am utilizing Pvt. vehicle for my day to day jobs on chargeable basis for Rs. 3000/-(approx.) per day and supported him which is my responsibility being insured to help them in sorting out the case timely.

On 9th July 2015 representative from M/s IAR Insurance Surveyor & Loss mailed me a consent letter to provide them scanned copy, till that date I do not have the number of any officer of M/s HDFC on 9/7/2015 I got the number of Mr. Baljinder from M/s HDFCERGO and discussed the matter with him but he also not replied satisfactorily regarding the failure in timely settlement and charges tobe borne by them regarding to parking/estimation and of pvt. vehicle, at last on 14/7/2015 he said sent the scanned copy of consent letter in the format as you wish, which I did on the very same day.

After going through all of the above I made a complaint with [protected]@@HDFCERGO dtd. 13/7/15 and they provided a no. 11963346 for future tracking & corresponcence and in their revert mail promised to resolve the matter within 2-3 days but they did noting even not replied to my grievance.

A complaint was lodged on 16/7/15 with grievance cell of M/s HDFCERGO with a copy to your goodself. In their reply dtd. 17/7/15 they also promised to make reply within 2 working days (two working days were 17/7/15 & 20/7/15) . Two working days lapse yesterday i.e. 20/7/15 but today in place of replying in a proper way you are demanding the signed documents from me. At the time of purchasing lot o[censored]nbelievable and huge promises were made by the insurer and the seller i.e. M/s Hyundai in their “HYUNDAI ASSURANCE NOTE” promising to support till end, but only on papers not in practical.

On one side I have lodged complaint with GRIEVANCE CELL OF M/s HDFCERGO on the other hand Mr. Baljinder is pressurizing to sort out the case by sending the documents according to them through Mr. Ritesh Gupta of M/s IAR Insurance Surveyor & Loss, now by you. How they can do so? Through the act of insurer I am very much grieved.

Vehicle no. UP13AL4336 is my first vehicle and I have emotional touch with it as it is proverbial naturally, after purchasing it I first went to the grave of my Grandfather for their blessings because he cares for me too much and then to home. But this EID-festival I was without my car with whom I want to salute my grandfather’s grave as per the tradition of Muslims to visit after “NAMAZ OF EID” due to negligence of insurer.

Now it is requested to your goodself provide me for the grievance to settle the case:-
a) As I am the sufferer due to negligence of the insurer hence kindly
arrange to provide the amount which I have incurred for my day to day use by hiring pvt vehicle i.e 3000/- perday from the day accident.
b) Vehicle is with M/s Vaso Arjun Hyundai, Moradabad, they demanding Rs. 250/- per day parking charge, due to your attitude of delay vehicle is still their kindly provide the charge to me from the date of accident till final settlement.
c) My IDV value is 596183 and the vehicle purchased on 24/8/14, provide me full IDV WITH 18% interest accured on delay payment.


It is also to inform you that for my and family day to day jobs I am regularly using pvt. vehicle, hence requested to kindly settlement the case on priority, because M/s HDFCERGO has not followed their words. Due to the irresponsibility nature of yours I am regularly suffering/harassed and suffering with mental agony for which I may claim if not settled soon.
