Horizon Infotech — Phone scam

I was called on the phone, and told i was hacked and they would fix it. After that they wanted a fee of $199.00 for two years protection. They said they were from microsoft. I checked with microsoft and found out they do not call you on the phone for anything. I called my bank and put a stop on the check.
I called the number they gave mr and when i asked for the company name this is the one they gave me

You are so correct. On June 4, 2018 I received a phone call from these people. At first, I could not understand the person calling because of the strong dialect. the speaker had a Indian accent. The person said that I had a refund coming to me because of some software I had purchased from Microsoft and they were calling people to tell them that a refund was granted. They wanted me to go online and type in www.ols.uil on my browser and tell them what came up on the screen. I typed in the information and kept getting a http error. So, I told the person that there was an internet error on the site he gave me. Then he told me to type it in again and this time some Arabic language came up. I told him the screen was showing Arabic and he said no it is digital data and I told him no he is incorrect it is Arabic. then he gave me another website to try and it was www.ultraviewer.net. I typed in this info and a this web page came up. He then asked me what was on the page and I told him, then he said okay is there a download icon on the page and I said yes, he said in order for him to refund me I would have to download the page and give the necessary information. At this time, I told him this is fraudulent and a scam and he went on to say no it is not. This is a true site. I did not download the page and told him so, then he hung up the phone. I went on the web site and searched for scams and this scam came up. these people are calling from the California and Las Vegas area. Do not download any information from the sites they give and do not give them any of your personal information. They use Microsoft as a binder to get you to comply with then. I went on the Federal Trade Commission site and file a complaint through them. Be aware and be smart.
Thank you so much... I just got this call. :( 1 year ago 3/17 I however did have an error come up on my computer that said I needed to contact Microsoft there was a number on my screen to call.I called and they dialed in to my computer and fixed the issue and yes... it cost me $199.00 for 2 years protection. then today they told me I was to get a refund of 399.00 back. I told him I wasn't giving a credit card or anything. If they want to refund me something. send VIA snail mail. :) They got 200.00 from me... that's plenty.
Received a call on August 8, 2020 regarding a $309.00 refund I was due because my software security company had gone out of business. I asked for the name of the company and was told Horizon Infotech.
I called out loud for all to hear, “Hey, have we ever done business with Horizon Infotech?” The room erupted with
“No, it is a scam!”
The phone caller immediately said it is not a scam. I said, “No, it really is a scam.” and then he hung up.
