Ibibo Group / Goibibo — Unilateral cancellation of hotel booking | |||||
Am a existing customer of goibibo-a senior doctor of repute practising in delhi. I had booked a hotel (Nonrefundable with full amount in advance) for my annual orthopaedic conference in indore in dec 2017, very much in advance in march and having received confirmed booking i proceeded to book my air ticket also for indore (Through goibibo - as record will show) for my travel and stay between 27th to 30th dec2017. However i was shocked to receive a call from goibibo customer care 3 days ago that goibibo is not in a position to honour my confirmed hotel booking (Id - htlasssgl4). Obviously i protested, as this would lead to complete disruption of my travel plans which i had made well in advance for peace of mind having wrongly trusted goibibo plus financial loss as i booked air tickets and registered for the conference only after my hotel booking was confirmed. But goibibo could not care less for their customer and inspite of them assuring me (Including mayank the tl who spoke to me) i have not got any call wether my booking stands or not and wether (As promised within half hour) a suitable alternate arrangement has been done by goibibo. Obviously this is totally unacceptable from a responsible organisation and if mt issue is not settles satisfactorily, i will be compelled to escalate the case both on social media and take legal recourse as this amounts to clear cut deficiency of promised services This is crystal clear that goibibo is liable entirely for 1) mental harassment of trusting genuine customer2) financial loss due to severe disruption of well planned travel arrangements 3) deficiency of promised services 4) prolonged delay in resolving crisis created entirely by goibibo itself 4) keeping a customers money and binding him down and denying him opportunity to seek booking from elsewhere or of different hotel As there is no satisfactory response from goibibo towards resolving this issue created entirely by goibibo - i am pointing out these facts officially which will make it quite obvious that goibibo does not have a customers best interest in mind- 1) when i made my booking from goibibo in march (17th) i wanted to book well in advance for my stay in indore in december as i had to make travel plans to attend conference accordingly 2) goibibo confirmed my hotel stay - as is clear from the voucher and the hotel stay was nonrefundable-thus depriving me of any opportunity of cancelling or modifying my booking. This fact obviously speaks for itself that goibibo entered into a contract of service with me and took entire amount in full in advance on noncancellable and nonefundable basis and by now declaring their inability to honour the terms of contracts and not giving me a viable alternative and depriving me of any opportunity then and now to book alternative hotel, they have breached their contract This is caused harassment, suffering and financial loss to a customer for no fault of his 3) as is evident from records and documents A) i have also made my air bookings for indore through goibibo (After i received confirmation of hotel stay) B) as is evident from records, i had opportunity to book alternative hotel (Hotel infinity)-which i cancelled once i received confirmation regarding my hotel C) even now it's more than a week since i received a call from goibibo regarding not being able to honour my existing booking and assurance of quick and satisfactory alternative arrangement - but no further official intimation from goibibo inspite of escalating the case from my end. D) my account still shows booking as confirmed E) even now i am being denied opportunity to seek booking from other sites (Hotek infinity and sayani are available on make my trip site on those dates - but i can't book as i am left in the lurch by thus unprofessional attitude of goibibo. This is a serious case of wrongdoing by goibibo and i am planning to escalate the matter legally as this is clear cut "deficiency of services" . Was this information helpful? | |||||
