ICICI Bank — Request for undue charges to be reversed on account no - xxxxxxx2614 | |||
We are holding the account no - xxxxxxxx2614 opened on 23rd july, 2013 in the name of natasha kakalia and porus kakalia. We were approached by icici employee mr preetam on many occasions to open an account with icici bank. We informed him that we already have an account with icici bank in name of porus kakalia (A/c no. Xxxxxxxx2901). He was still very persistent and informed us to open an account as it will help his career and we can shut the account after three months. So we decided to open one more account with icici bank as we only had one joint account between us with another bank at that time. Kindly also note that during account opening it was not informed to us that the account needs to be operated with a minimum balance of inr 50, 000/-. We did not receive any account statement by mail or soft copy by email from the time this account was opened. The account was regularly operated but we did not notice that the account statements for this particular account were not being received. During my visit to the icici wadala branch in the first week of may, 2017 that i requested statements for this account and we were shocked to see that there were charges being deducted from our account on a regular basis (Almost rs.15, 000/-) up to now. On inquiring we were told that the first charge appeared in august, 2015 and from that time we are regularly being charged a fee for not maintaining a minimum balance of inr 50, 000/-. It is surprising that – • we were not intimated by the bank before being charged. • after the first few charges the bank executives/bank manager nor icici bank thought it was important to inform us to maintain a balance for not incurring charges/ fines in future. • the account was opened in july, 2013 and the charges started appearing in august, 2015. Why we were not charged any fines or fee in between this period. We are feeling very uncomfortable and cheated by this episode and request an immediate refund and reversal of any and every kind of charges/fees or fines that have been wrongly imposed on us during this time. The reason to deposit our money with a reputed bank like icici is to feel safe and secure in doing so. We trust that you will treat our request with the utmost urgency and consideration it deserves.
