[Resolved] Idea Cellular — Excess billing and barred phone | |
Dear Idea, I am a 70 year old female who requires internet for occasional Skype calls to my daughter's. On April 12th 2017 I changed my service from 3G to 4G at the aundh myidea store at pune. After changing the sim they told that my plan would change from 1gb 3g per month to 1gb/day 4G within a couple of hours. After receiving no service for an hour and then receiving 3g (as depicted by H+) for an hour...I saw that the phone was now showing 4g. Thinking my plan has been activated I started using the internet freely. After a couple of hours I checked my myidea app and saw that it was showing my old plan. I called your call centre who informed me that my plan has not yet changed and they helpfully changed the plan which became activated in an hour. After using the service for a couple of days, my service was stopped due to exceeding my credit limit and I saw that I have been billed around Rs. 4500.00 for the couple of hours o[censored]sage during the transition from 3g to 4g. I went to tkhe myidea store at Law Collage Rd in Pune and one of the representative named Manoj rudely told us that I have been billed on a pro-rated basis o[censored]sing excess Internet on my 3G plan. I then went to your office at Sharda Center and they were kindly able to restart my service for 8 days after which it was again barred. I am willing to pay for the data I have used but you have charged me a pro-rated amount assuming my use of internet on that particular day. That is preposterous. I had also written to your Appellate and received a response saying that they can take care of the excess charges only after the bill is generated. But I am stuck with a phone barred from making calls. If your team is not able to help me in this situation and wipe out these prohibitive charges imposed on me, I would like to return to my old 3g plan where I would wait out a month to pay the normal charge o[censored]sing the internet. I have been a satisfied customer of idea and would hate to leave your network. I hope you can resolve this problem and reactivate my service ASAP.
