Idp Ielts — no proper prior intimation regarding an examination and extremely poor customer service

I had registered for ielts ukvi ac exam to be conducted on 14/10/2017 via idp india. Once i registered they delivered an email to me stating that the details about the speaking test schedule will be intimated to the candidate 7 days prior to the date of examination. The email further stated that the candidate can check their speaking test details on their online portal or by idp ielts voicemail no. As i had registered for 14/10/2017 (Saturday), i checked for the speaking test schedule on 8/10/2017 (Sunday) and 9/10/2017 (Monday) through the online portal and the voicemail no. Confused that the email had said "7 days prior intimation" and there were only 5 days left for the actual exam on 14th, i called idp chennai. They told me that the email and a message to the cell phone no. That i had given in the ielts registration regarding speaking test details will be sent soon and not to worry. Now i have written many british council exams so far starting from 'starters"all the way to '"fce"and in all those exams the speaking test has always happened on the same day as the written test. I had no idea that the speaking test would actually happen on a completely different day for ielts ukvi ac. There was no sentence which clearly stated that the speaking test would happen on"a different day"during the exam registration or in the email sent to the candidate acknowledging the registration or in the customer service of idp chennai that attended my call on 9/10/2017 (Monday). All they mentioned was that the details would be be given later. I didn't check my idp ielts account (Online portal) on 10th, 11th, 12th of october because my computer was repaired and i had no net connection since the morning of 10/10/2017 (Tuesday) and due to some genuine commitments i didn't call up and check on those three days. But when i called on 13/10/2017 (Friday) the day before the written exam, the voicemail clearly stated that there was"no details available regarding your speaking test schedule"and i had received no message to my cell phone regarding the speaking test schedule either. But when i turned up for my exam on 14/10/2017 (Saturday) i was informed that the speaking test schedule details were put up on 10/10/2017 (Tuesday) evening and the speaking test was already conducted on 12/10/2017 (Thursday). I was devastated on hearing the news because i had missed the speaking test and i was informed by the invigilators that i would be marked absent for the speaking test and appalled at the same time that for a huge organisation such as the british council and idp who together conduct ielts in india ask the candidates to pay an outrageous amount of rs.18, 500 as examination fee but could not send even a message to the cell phone no. That i provided. After my written exam got over we contacted the idp chennai office who told us that they had only one ielts expert and that she was not available at the moment and that she will not be available for another entire week due to diwali holidays. Because we stressed it was an emergency they forwarded our call to the idp gurgaon office who was also of no help. The cost of the examination was rs.18, 500 and i cannot afford to pay for it again and write hailing from a middle class family but also because there was no sort of way that i could have known about the speaking part of the exam. Hence i reprimand their ignorance and deem them as a corporation only interested in making money through the excuse"examination fee" and not actually have the best interests of the student at hand.
