[Resolved] IFB — ifb franchise insisting on changing washing machine drum | |||
Our washing machine was not in use for 17 months as house was unoccupied. I had to urgently call the franchise of ifb in kandivili mumbai on 9th june 2018 and i did so using their landline number that i had instead of routing the call through the ifb call centre. The urgent need was felt during the cleaning of the house for it to be occupied again. My wife is a cancer patient and was moving back to our mumbai house and this was conveyed to the franchise (Ph no.[protected]. The technician came and has quoted around rs 5000 including visit charge saying that the drum has to be changed. The machine is working but only making some slight noise. We tried to tell him that a drum by itself does not require a change for the type of complaint we have lodged and that it should be something to do with the bearings or bushings. However due to our immediate need we have paid him an advance to carry out the job. On reflection, i am writing this in the hope that ifb will intervene and stop this looting even in a cancer patient case.
