[Resolved]  IFB Industries — ifb front load washing machine - poor build quality & no transparency in warranty.

I am booking this complaint after no response from customer service.

I got a problem in drum remaining with some loose rubber powder after washing cycle.

After checking the problem by IFB technician, it was found due to corrosion of drum arm leading to misalignment which leads to rubber wear and informed to replace the drum along with rubber seal.

As my machine is under 100% warranty for 4 years, I asked to replace both at free of cost. But he informed me rubber parts will not be covered under warranty. When I checked the same in warranty card & user manual, I never found out such statement anywhere in the corners.

Rather it was mentioned as “During 48 months from the date of purchase of the new washing machine all the parts of washing machine which prove to be defective in workmanship and /or materials shall be replaced or repaired free of charge”

It was just completing 1.3 years life from purchase date, but I used the machine only for few months effectively as we were out of station for 5 months. So, with this limited usage, IFB machine is getting such dreadful problems which creates unhappiness on your build quality and brand image.

Technically speaking, my machine was built with Aqua-energie technology which makes water to soften, thereby the occurrence of problems due to water like corrosion, contaminants, etc. shall be less and additional filters are not required to soften the incoming tap water. Also using this technical concept, it was marketed to me and it made me to buy. But finally, I felt it was completely wrong concept as your technology never works on my problem though I am using well water.

With minimal usage, the drum arm material is corroded. I still never believe, how IFB with high brand image & build quality is using poor quality of materials.

No transparency in warranty
As said above, it was different statements of warranty coverage from user manual, dealer, technician and customer care. Whom I should believe?
If it is partial, then what is the meaning of your 100% coverage under warranty?

So please take immediate actions to replace my defective parts at free of charge as per user manual.

If i am not getting any response from IFB team, even after posting this complaint here, my next only hope is to forward the complaints to any Board of Directors.
