Income Tax Department — passing the buck

This year Incometax India efiling has introduced a different way of e-verifying your return. You are required to first validate your bank account from within the efiling portal. After entering bank account, IFSC Code, mobile number etc EVC is generated that you use to everify your return.

There's an error in this system. When I was trying to do it, I was always getting technical error message from the Incometax department (not the bank) Here two parties are involved Incometax Department & the Bank.

After I logged a complaint with incometax department, they blindly closed the call stating that I should contact my bank. Bank says all details are correct and there's no issue.

This is pathetic. This is a classic example of how government organizations implement a process and when it does not work, pass the blame on other party.
