Indian Overseas Bank — reactivation of dormant account needs home branch visits

Hi, I have attended my college in Allahabad and opened my IOB account there, years later i shifted to Bangalore for my job, i have been working for 2 years now.
I want to reactivate my iob account, they are saying i need to travel more than 1500Kms just to submit kyc details ? why can't i do it online or why can't i visit my nearest branch and submit details there ? what kind of service is this ? And suppose i needed that account in lockdown, then what? how would i travel in lockdown?

This is just really bad customer service. Hope someone sees through the issue and try to change the rules.
I had some funds there but looks like i won't be able to use them.
