[Resolved]  Indigo Airlines — exorbitant cancellation charges

I booked flight ticket pnr ffbz5d indigo 6e706 hyderabad chennai in the name ramakrishnan and rajalakshmi while booking by oversight i put the date as 27/06 instead 27/05 within 5 minutes i approached makemy trip as i booked through them. I was offerd full refund if i book fresh ticket for 27/05 since the rates were high for me i canceled the ticket. Shockingly of the amount paid rs 4883 i got refund advice for only rs888 for the mistake i lost 4000 though i approached in 5 minutes. Its too much for a senior citizen like me i lodged a complaint with makemy trip but they advised me to refer to you

We truly understand your concern. We would like to inform you that cancellation policy is designed in a way so as to give our customers the freedom to cancel their travel plans according to their own convenience, exigencies can occur at any point of time .Therefore, we allow you the flexibility to cancel or reschedule a reservation up to two hours prior to the scheduled departure time for domestic flights. Further, our customer care team tried offering you full refund for the booking reference FFBZ5D and requested you to book a new reservation. However, the same was not accepted by you. We are hopeful that you will understand the need for our policies and see this matter in the right spirit.

I am not at all satisfied, I did mention in my complaint itself that full refund offered if fresh booking made whereas I could not do so because of high cost of tickets
Penalising a middle class sr citizen by deducting Rs 4000 out of ticket fare of Rs4883 is like a thunder falling on head
Trust the airlines understand this and come forward to refund a major portion of the amount paid

We would like to inform you that as per conditions of carriage, which is a binding agreement between IndiGo and its passengers agreed upon during the time of making the reservation, in case of cancellation necessary charges are applied.
