[Resolved] Indigo Airlines — not allowed to board after checking in and boarding pass issuance | |
Dear sir / madam, We were a group of five including my senior citizen parents travelling from mumbai to goa on 6th of nov.'18. It was by indigo flight 6e981 at 15-45 from domestic terminal. We were in airport on time and did bag drop by 15-00. Web check in was already done. Due to heavy rush security check in took little time. After security check we had to go to toilet as senior citizens were there. When in toilet i received a call from an unknown number at 15-19. Called back immediately. As per my call records, at 15-21. The line was busy and could not get through. We came back, settled and after 5-10 minutes went to check at designated gate no.11. To our horror we understood that boarding has been closed and we were not to be allowed to board the aircraft. We, my husband and myself are frequent travellers. We understood the significance of a silent airport. However, always seen men or women calling out loudly in case they see people absent after the boarding pass issuance. Unfortunately this has not been followed in present case. Please understand the trauma we had to undergo with my 82 year old father and 72 year old mother after this. We were offered ticket at an additional cost of rs. 22000 for next day, which was of no use as the travel itself was only for 3 days. The airline tickets for 6th nov costed us a loss of rs. 21000 and hotel booking costed $240 as it was all prebooked. Who will pay us back this money? Plus for the anxiety? Kindly look in to the matter. If required we can move to consumer court as well, where all proofs can be produced.
