Kailash Healthcare — Rude behavior | Poor patient handling | Complaint | Dr. R.K. Gattani

Address:A-17, Sector 30, Noida

Dear team of Kailash Noida, Sec 27

I am writing on behalf of Mrs. Pushpa Gautam (My mother), who is currently undergoing treatment with Dr. Gattani.
Her first visit with the doctor was on 27th Feb, 2021 (attached OPD card and prescription form), where she was asked to undergo some tests (please refer attached OPD card) and some medicines were prescribed, which she has been taking regularly, as advised.
In the following days, she got the tests conducted and today, on 8th March, 2021, she visited Dr. Gattani again for further consultation (attached OPD card).

First of all, I had called ahead on saturday to enquire if we can get an appointment for today, to which we were told that it is open OPD and we will have to walk in and take a number. When my mother reached the OPD she was asked multiple times if she had an appointment and how without it it takes a long time. My mobile number is [protected] and you can check that I made a call in the evening (around 4 pm) on saturday (6th March, 2021) to enquire about the appointment.

Then my mother got a number 105 to see the doctor. After waiting patiently for her turn, when she finally met the doctor, he behaved rudely with her throughout the consultation. It is not a generalised statement. Following are the problem points due to which I am writing to you :

1) He asked her to keep quiet, when she was asking a question about her blood pressure. As a result she does not know why her BP is beinng erratic and how we should treat it. We only have "some" medicines, whose use also we do not know.

2) He attended a phone call in front of her, where he was constantly complaining of the high number of patients and how today was a "sad day", with a patient sitting right in front of him. This dissuaded my mother from asking anything else and the entire consultation was over in 3-5 mins (including the time he spent on his phone call, where he communicated more, than he did with the patient)

3) He did not explain a word of what came in the reports. Whether they were normal, poor or problematic or worrisome. He just wrote medicines and sent her away.

4) My mother had vomiting and fever the day before, in the night, and when she tried discussing that, he did not hear it at all or asked for any other symptoms, and merely asked, "aaj vomit hui kya?", in a very rude tone, while my mother was clearly suffering from the problem.

I want to ask, how a patient is supposed to feel better after having such a terrible consultation? Is the doctor not supposed to politely handle the patient? If his work load is so much that it's a sad day for him, then why doesn't he stop at 50 patients and not make it a "sad day" for the 105th patient?

We came to Kailash hospital for years and after having multiple recommendations.
My sister delivered her baby son there, I have bid farewell to 2 grandparents there, my father had an operation there last month. But after today, it just seems that the hospital is only caring about the patients coming in and moving out ; Not about whether they are being treated properly or not.

I want my grievance to be looked into seriously by the management of the hospital. And if it is not then I will be forced to escalate the issue to concerned authorities

Writing to you as a pained son, who saw his mother being mistreated by such a reputed medical practitioner, at a reputed hospital.

Anticipating your response.

Regards
Vikram Jeet
