We had a problem with one of our 240v coil contactor. To replace it, we purchased another l&t 240v coil contactor on 17th march. We replaced the faulty one on same day and it worked though that night. Unfortunately, it started vibrating with noise from very next day (18th march) morning. As advised by shopkeeper, we logged a ticket (Ticket#[protected] with l&t customer support. But i was surprised to see the sla of 36 hrs for any ticket logged with l&t. They expect to run the entire apartment on dg/without power for next 36hrs. Otherwise, purchase a separate one for an immediate solution.
After a long argument, they connected me with satheesh ([protected]) in bangalore. He connected me with local service engineer lakhminarayan ([protected]). As per their suggestion it could be an issue with voltage differences with panel board and contactor configuration. But they were reluctant to visit the site to rectify the exact issue. After a long discussion, he agreed to come on couple of conditions: (A) if this is already burnt, they won’t change it. (B) if they will do any other troubleshooting apart from their own product, we need to pay for that.
While they visit our apartment, they shows that new contactor is 415v coil instead of 240v. We called the shopkeeper and they confirmed that they have given us same configuration as per the faulty sample unit (240v). Later we found that l&t packed a 415v contactor in 240v box that was sold to us. But the l&t service persons were not ready to change it. Even, they charged rs1000 extra as service charge for their visit (Though they haven’t done anything to fix the issue). Once, we denied to pay this unreasonable charge, they started threating us about worst support in future. (I didn’t understand what can be more worse than this). Even, they started yelling us instead of accepting the fault from company end.
Because of this fault, we lost 250lt diesel, rs 5100.00 (To customize the power supply on our panel board), extra rs 500.00 as tips to those electricians and a harassment throughout the day. I need an explanation and compensation from l&t for this type of mistake and behavior from their employees. Was this information helpful? |
