Lodha Group — refund of booking amount - lodha luxuria priva, thane | |||
I, rahul ghosh, along with my wife, sreemoyee mukherjee, had booked a flat (2 bhk unit) in lodha luxuria priva, thane on 26th june, 2017. Our initial blocking amount was a sum of rs. 1, 80, 000/-. This unit was in tower 2, 25th floor. After booking of the flat, we didnt receive any communication from any lodha representative about further processes, how to progress further with the initial booking etc. It seemed they were only concerned with the sale of the flat and not any service thereafter. During this period, my maternal grandmother expired suddenly and as a result my mother was also taken unwell and was hospitalized.in the prevalent scenario, i was required to put more attention to the prevalent medical situation in my home that demanded a huge drain on my personal finances, and hence i decided not to continue with the apartment purchase as that would require a great financial commitment for some years to come. After multiple rounds of follow-ups and requests to lodha and even after providing death certificate of my grandmother that i am actually telling the truth and this is an extraneous circumstance beyond my control that requires to be considered on humanitarian grounds, i was only given 50% of the booking amount and the rest was held back by lodha - although i had requested for the cancellation of the flat and refund of booking amount only within one month of my booking. For a reputed and big developer like lodha, 90, 000 is only a very minuscule amount. But for a common, middle class salaried person like me its a huge sum of money. Moreover, the reason for my cancellation was genuine, an exceptional circumstance beyond my control and needed attention/consideration on humanitarian grounds. Moreover, i placed my request for cancellation within only a month so i didn't hold the flat for long and that would have given lodha enough time to put the flat for sell again, immediately afterwards. Still, my whole booking amount was not refunded. I would request team lodha to refund my pending booking amount (Rs 90, 000/-) asap.
