Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation [Msrtc] — unusual ticket demand from driver

Bus: shivneri pune stn to dadar

Start time: 1st may 2:45pm

I boarded the bus at aundh and deboarded it at vishal nagar as my trip was cancelled.
The driver asked me to deposit my ticket to him to deboard the bus.
How can he take my ticket if he has not to refund it
Now i have no proof to show my company that i started travelling for the meeting.
