[Resolved] Mahindra And Mahindra — Mahindra XUV 500, dealer jacked up the price | |||
Dear Sirs / Madams, My name is Vikas Navalrai Makhija and I am a resident of Abu Dhabi UAE. In the 15th August 2020 INDIA supplement of the Khaleej Times, our local newspaper, I saw an advertisement of Mahindra SUV 500 available in the UAE for AED 56, 900. I called the dealer Galadari Auto and also visited their showroom which in in Dubai and paid AED 500 and booked the vehicle in November 2020. I was promised delivery in one or two months time. I did not get the delivery till February 2021 and therefore I took a refund of my advance. You are aware that there is a huge choice of cars in the UAE but I still wanted to go for SUV 500 as I wanted to drive a MADE IN INDIA car. This is in spite of apprehensions of spare part availability due to the lesser number of Mahindra vehicles on the Road in the UAE. Never mind, I again booked the car in July 2021 and waited. Finally in October 2021, a few days ago, the dealer informed me that the W6 vehicle had arrived. However, my joy was short lived as he said the price had been increased to AED 63, 000. We said the price told to us was AED 56, 900. Then the salesman came back and said that he has spoken to his manager and can offer the car for AED 60, 000. I felt that it is my duty to bring the following to your notice, 1) Sufficient cars are not being made available in UAE to meet the demand 2) When the car is available after waiting for 1 year, dealer is just unilaterally jacking up the price 3) We are not able to express our love and affection for Mahindra by getting the vehicle at the promised price 4) We need the assurance of availability of Mahindra SUV 500 parts in UAE after we buy the vehicle. 5) Incidentally, he said only the price of W6 had increased, but no change in the price of W8. We request you to use your good offices and advise the dealer to give the W6 vehicle at the published price of AED 56, 900, if possible. So, we do not want to pursue this matter any further.
