[Resolved]  MakeMyTrip India — different policies for open tickets being followed by the travel agent than emirates-unfair practice

I had bookings through make my trip with emirates and due to covid-19 the international flights got cancelled by the airlines automatically but whereas emirates is issuing open tickets which could be rescheduled anytime during 24 months of date of original booking without paying any change it fare difference but mmt is insisting on fare difference to be paid at the time of rescheduling although no change fee penalty. Since the rescheduling can be done for the same airlines for the same destination or region the policy followed by make my trip is unfair and no additional fare differences should be payable by travellers at the time of rescheduling through the agent as well but mmt won’t budge. It has made its own unfair prejudicial policy since it knows that fares would rise tremendously after the lockdown is over.
I would like the government to intervene and compel the travel agents to go by the respective airlines policies instead of their own whimsical policies.
This matter requires urgent attention by the government, mmt and emirates as well to intervene and have a standard policy for all otherwise who would ever like to book through agents and lose money unnecessarily. Mmt says it is following emirates policies but i don’t agree to it since the emirates website makes everything clear but requests travellers to route the request for open tickets through the travel agents.
Kindly take action instantly.

Today again fresh updates by emirates that reschuding of flights cancelled due to covid-19 and lockdowns to be done without any penalty and fare difference payment but MMT is showing as rescheduling can be done with fare difference payment

MMT supervisor called up to say sorry for the mid information given by Sumit for rescheduling at a future date and confirmed that no fare difference would be charged for the same destination and route for bookings made due to covid -19 Flights cancellations
