I have booked my airline e ticket of Air India AI 9866 from Makemytrip.com (Website) on January 6, 2017 from Raipur to Bhopal of Rs. 5413.
Due to sudden change in plan, i tried cancelling my e-ticket from the Website but there was some technical failure. I then called the customer care of the website to inform them and requested them for cancelling my e-ticket. I was given to understand that some portion of the ticketed amount will be deducted as penalty and cancellation charges. I asked them to proceed with the same.
The customer care due to some reason or the other failed to cancel my ticket and informed me that they are requesting the airlines directly for my cancellation.
I, customer care and a representative from the airlines side, commenced our conference call. In the call, i was informed that the airlines also cannot cancel my ticket and i will be considered as a NO Show and thus will not be entitled for any refund.
My contention is even when i am informing both the parties that i have to make sudden change in plans and it is a failure on their part that they are not cancelling my ticket, why and how i can be subjected to such a situation.
I kept on requesting them to cancel my ticket and refund a minimal amount but they refused to even try cancelling my ticket. I have already informed them that i will not travelling today then how can they consider my a NO Show case and decline my refund. Was this information helpful? |
