We booked two packages ID-NL[protected] AND ID-NL[protected] online on 05thJan2017 at Makemytrip to Andaman. Prior to confirming the booking’s we called the customer service to confirm about the included activities and got different replies regarding the activities mentioned online. Eventually one of the customer service representative confirmed that the Ferry bookings were included in the package. While confirming the booking, the ferry booking was appearing as an additional activity and we got confused whether the Ferry bookings were included. Subsequently we received the hotel and cab info but the ferry bookings were missing.
From 05 to 07Jan we were on the phone with the customer service of Makemytrip and every time the conversation was for about 30-40 minutes and different replies were being given to us. During all the calls, We informed the agents beforehand that if the call got disconnected, they should follow up and arrange a call back from their seniors which was never done. On 07th evening, one Madam Anju informed that the Cab person would hand over the Ferry vouchers to us and she gave the number of one Bobby Lal. Immediately we called Bobby Lal and informed him that we wanted to travel from Port Blair to Havelock in the morning time and return in the evening time. He noted the preference and we told him to inform us as soon as he receives the bookings.
We reached Port Blair on 10th morning and kept calling Bobby Lal to inform us about the itinerary to be followed and the ferry vouchers. He did not pick up the phone and we wasted 3-4 hours trying to confirm from him about the visit to Ross island which was included in first day activity but there was no reply from him. We called MMT and told them that we were cancelling the package and going back to Mumbai, else we would follow our own itinerary and later sue MMT. They informed us to buy Ross island tickets and said these would be reimbursed (Expenses incurred Rs.1100/-). The point about reimbursement was later validated by Mr. Pandi from Bobby Lal’s office. Also Mr. Pandi informed that the ferry booking from Port Blair to Havelock was for the afternoon on 11thJan. We ourselves ran from pillar to post and tried to get it for 11th Morning but could not get the booking.
Upon reaching Havelock we were informed that Snorkeling was not included whereas the activity details was showing the inclusion of the same. Later upon lot of communication, we were informed that snorkeling would be included.
To summarize, lot of time wasting in communication and uncertainty about the bookings and the activities inclusion, whereas in the original plan on the MMT site, the view activity tab showed all the inclusions. MMT agent Bobby Lal is good for nothing and if at all it was his off on the day we reached, he should have informed us prior and assigned someone else to take care of the itinerary instead o[censored]s calling him and getting no response for several hours. The vacation and few days prior was totally spoilt and kept us busy on the phone (This can be verified from your records)
I urge MMT to immediately compensate Rs. 1100/- for the amount spent for Ross island trip and penalty of Rs.10, 000/- per person Was this information helpful? |
