[Resolved] MakeMyTrip India — no refund for cancellation on account of medical emergency | |
I had booked a trip to pelling for the period 06.06.2018 to 10.06.2018 through makemytrip.com. I fell critically ill on the night of 03.06.2018 and had to be hospitalised on an emergency basis. As per the doctor’s advice, i could not carry on with the trip and on 04.06.2018 i called up the agent of makemytrip and requested for a deferment of the plan. She immediately put me on to another department who initially said they would do it. They asked for all my medical reports as proof which i provided after i was released from the hospital on 07.06.2018. On 11.06.2018 i got the portion of fare paid to indigo airlines. I had to follow up regularly for the balance amount but on 22.06.2018, makemytrip.com finally said they can not give me any refund. I have lost around rs.95000/= in the process. They could have deducted 1 days hotel booking and refunded the balance amount if deferment was not possible. Portion of airfare also should have been refunded as this was a case of medical emergency.
