We purchased a ciaz alpha petrol from atul motors pvt. Ltd.in india in january 2019. We were given the delivery on 8th february, 2019. However, we discovered that the car had two severe manufacturing defects:
1. The smart hybrid system was not working
2. Navigation/maps were not working
The dealer sent me to their workshop, where the team drove the car for 2 hours and ran tests. They could not find the fault, and told me that these were manufacturing defects that they could not identify or fix. Hence this complaint is against the company
maruti suzuki india limited, and not the dealer.
So i did not take/get delivery of the car, though the money has been paid and they have taken my old car for exchange.
I have asked them to replace the defective car with a new car - which the dealer agreed that the company should do.
I filed a complaint with maruti/nexa on the same day on the phone as well as by email.
However, so far, on 13th february, 2019, nobody from nexa or maruti has bothered to get back to me or has offered any kind of resolution.
The dealer offered to give me an alternate car which was manufactured in september 2018 (5 months old, considering i am getting it in february 2019), and so i refused it.
Then the dealer said that there were no similar cars available in ahmedabad, and hence he will get his
person to drive another similar car from surat, which means that that car will have several hundred kilometers on its odometer, even before i touch it. And it will not be same as getting a new car from the company, which had less than 30 km on the odo when i saw it in the dealership. Hence i have refused it.
I have asked the company to replace the defective car with a new car, which should not be too old and which should not have several hundred kilometers on it. If they do not have a car in ahmedabad, they can send one from the factory during the next consignment to ahmedabad.
Despite more than 10 calls and emails, i have not heard back from maruti as to when/whether the company plans to resolve the problem or not.
The company has taken my money for the new car, and my old car, and hence they are liable to give me a new car. As a result, i am now without a car, facing difficulty in commuting, and my money is gone, without any assurance of whether i will get a new, non-defective car or not. I am going through extreme hardship, suffering and humiliation and difficulty due to callous and irresponsible behaviour of
maruti suzuki india limited.
I request the consumer court at ahmedabad to do the needful to file a case for damages, suffering and pain, and ask the company to replace the defective car with a new, non-defective car at the earliest.
I strongly recommend potential buyers to be beware about the poor quality of nexa cars, and the horrible customer service, and consider cars from other car companies, before buying any maruti products.
