Maruti Suzuki India — Negligence on part of Maruti Suzuki | |||
This is to bring to your notice that I am an owner of Maruti Suzuki Swift Car (DL 5C H 6682, Petrol variant). Recently, I got it serviced (date: 6th Feb, 2016) from an authorized service centre of Maruti Suzuki ‘Marketing Times, Okhla, New delhi’. In this service, the throttle body was cleaned by the service men. During a recent trip that I undertook (on 17th Feb, 2016 after getting my car serviced) to Muzzaffarnagar (UP West), the car came to an abrupt halt. I tried, in vain, to start the engine of the car but the car could not be completely started. Every time that I switched on the ignition, the engine started for a few seconds and then came to a stop (this happened a couple of times at around 3.30 am in the dead of the night, me and my wife being alone). This, to me, was a horrible situation to be caught up in. After repeated failed attempts at starting the engine, me and my wife had to spend the rest of the night inside the car. In the morning, we hired a crane and took the car to a mechanic. We were charged Rs. 1200 by the crane operator and another Rs. 200 by the mechanic. I got to know from the mechanic, that the pipe from the air filter that is connected to the throttle body was loose and that its screws were not properly fastened into the throttle body. This can obviously be attributed to the negligence of the service men at ‘Marketing Times, Okhla, New delhi’. This level of negligence is not at all acceptable from a company that is India’s number one manufacturer of cars. I became your customer because of your goodwill in the automobile segment but I am now disheartened at the levels of service at your service centers. It seems to me that these service centers are but only a money minting business with no regard given to the consumer. I would like to state here, that I will take a legal course of action and file a consumer complaint in case appropriate damages (for the loss of money and time, and the mental trauma that it caused) and an official apology (in writing), is not made to me.
