Policy Number : [protected] Dear Sir, Just to remind you and to your agent Mr.Mukesh (Mobile Number : 98880 86754), on explanation about MAX BUPA 100% cashless health policy by your said agent, we had decided to purchase it and you know we (complete family) is covered and paying since 13.10.2014. So far, we have approximately paid about Rs.2, 45, 000/- and claimed nothing by God Grace. Your agent, while arranging the first policy, conveyed to me that whenever we need any medical treatment with a minimum one day stay / admission in the hospital, we need not to pay even one paisa to the hospital as far as the billing amount is within the covered value. For the very first time in the last seven years, I decided to get the treatment of my left eye under MAX health cover and that too under the guidance of your agent after explaining him the problem / illness and beforehand after consulting by him with ASG Eye Hospitals, Plot No.9B, Malhar Cinema Road, Sarabha Nagar, Ludhiana - 141 001. Before I moved for a check-up from my home on 27.06.2021, I again obtained an assurance from your agent on whether I need to carry cash with me or not. He affirmed that I shouldn't carry any cash and need not pay to the hospital. After preparation of my file and on primary check-up, the doctor advised me to get OCT and angiography for which they asked me to pay Rs.4600/-. I paid these charges against their bills number LDH/22/HO/2203 and LDH/22/HO/2208 dated 27.06.2021 for Rs.2000/-, Rs.2600/- respectively. I called-up Mr.Mukesh to convey about these charges, he replied that on initial checking I will have to pay the same and he told me that he will get the said charges reimbursed after the treatment is over. Being a 100% cashless policy holder, such charges shouldn't have been paid by me but keeping in view the circumstances at that time I had no choice but to bear this cost from my own pocket. It was very surprising and embarrassing for me. At that time in the hospital, I was feeling myself somewhere cheated by your agent. As for the eye surgery / treatment, after having been discussed by your agent with the hospital’s staff, your agent suggested them to submit a request for Injection Accentrix which costs Rs.27000/- for approval to MAX Bupa. He (your agent) confirmed to get the approval from MAX Bupa within a few minutes. The same day (on 27.06.2021) in the evening, I got a call from the hospital telling me that my appointment for surgery / treatment has been fixed for 29.06.2021. I asked them about the approval, and they confirmed to get the approval soon. Next day on 28.06.2021, I received another call from the hospital telling me that MAX Bupa will pay only Rs.19, 000/- and for the balance payment, I will have to pay from my own pocket. I conveyed this scenario to your agent on 28.06.2021. He asked me to wait and let him check with the company (MAX Bupa). He didn't turn back to me till 29.06.2021 morning. I dropped a message to him on whatsapp. He called me and asked me to pay the balance from my (patient's) pocket. He further added that the company pays only this much which means the company will not bear the 100% cost. I argued with him and said that you cheated me by telling me that the policy is 100% cashless and now you are telling me that the company makes partial settlements. I warned him to refer this matter to the insurance ombudsman, he replied to me and threatened me to do whatever I want to do and go wherever I want to go, He (your agent) said, "I don't bother". Just for your information, a compensation of Rs.2000/- per day in multiply till the treatment goes on, as per policy (as conveyed to me by your agent for MAX Bupa is getting money from me) is also admissible. Your agent has denied to settle as per 100% cashless policy then keeping in view the current situation what to say of the compensation and reimbursements. Who will believe?? It's sheer cheating by your agent Mr.Mukesh (MOBILE NUMBER : 98880 86754) and somewhere MAX Bupa is also responsible for it. Licences of such agents must be cancelled and they shouldn't be allowed to serve for any other health insurance companies. I had never expected this type of dealing from such a worldwide renowned health policy provider. I am stuck in a very embarrassing situation and it is putting a very bad effect on my health . My reply : From 2013 onwards, I have paid a sum of Rs.1, 94, 731.78 towards premium and taxes but on the part of services from MAX BUPA and your fraud agent - Mr.Mukesh Sharma, there is a BIG ZERO. Ethically, you should reimburse the said amount of Rs.1, 94, 731.78 with an interest of 24% per annum immediately. I have reviewed your reply given in the email below.
