Max Hospital — femur bone implant broken within four months

My mother who is 77 years old went through an operation in her left leg wherein Dr Ashish Mittal of Max Hospital, Dehradun conducted the surgery and did an implant of femur bone. Post that she underwent physiotherapy from Max Hospital Physiotherapist only for almost 2 months.

She is now in Jammu and felt severe pain in the same leg and it was such a pain that she could not walk or sit and had to be bed ridden. She was taken to Narayana Hospital in Katra, Jammu and post the X Ray, it was diagnosed that the implant has failed.

Dr Ashish Mittal was contacted and he simply said that she requires revision of implant with bone graft. This is really a joke that for the doctor it is simple to say that revision of implant is required with bone graft whereas the patient is a 77 year old patient. The pain, the agony that my mother will have to go through seems is not a concern of Dr Ashish Mittal. She was on bed rest post 2 months of surgery and now again the same process will have to be executed for which she will again be on bed rest for another two months.

This is all because of the negligence of the doctor and the poor quality of titanium implant that Max Dehradun is using in such operations.

I am also filing a complaint with the Insurance Company who had passed the claim for this operation, of this attitude of the doctor and poor quality of implant as well as bad quality of surgery by teh Max Doctors.
