This is Vinoth, I'm working in IBM, Bangalore.
I have undergone eye surgery(TPRK WITH KXL COLLAGON) for Kerataconus on 10th of December 2021. Initially, via Hospital I have opted for a Cashless claim, but I have received the confirmation that it is not covered under cashless and they asked me to go ahead with surgery and there is a possibility for the claim if you submit all the documents post surgery. After that I have submitted all the documents and got a mail to the missing documents which I have submitted as well(Claim No[protected].
Since I was occupied with my official and personal work, I wasn't able to check the claim status. Today, I have checked it and the claim is denied as it is not covered under policy. But I didn't get any mail confirmation or any message to my mobile number that "the claim is declined". Please let me know why there is no communication on the same?
Also, I was under the impression, this surgery will be covered as this is similar to Laser treatment with day care. If this is not covered, it means why the team is giving me a hope for claiming post surgery. They should have declined saying this will not be covered both for Cashless & Claim submission. I have spent time collecting all my documents to submit the claim, why was there no transparency in providing the information? I might have opted for a different Insurance provider if this information was provided earlier.
