[Resolved]  Mescom — Penalty refund with interest of ht-25

To give a brief overview, we are animal feed manufacturers in coastal karnataka with an electricity connection from mescom bramhavar with rr no ht 25. We were doing third party processing of animal feed but from august 2015, the feed production at our industry came down as the third party had set up their own feed plant in mangalore. Hence the power consumption also reduced. We received the notice from the bramhavar mescom charging us rs 1, 45, 209/- as a short claim in our february 2016 electricity bill (Letter 4456-57enclosed). We were asked by the bramhavar mescom to pay the penalty and that the amount would be refunded to us after the submission of the proof. We paid the penalty as we did not want the manufacturing at our factory to stop due to power issues. We immediately submitted all the required proof too on 19.03.2016 (Letter along with proofs attached with this letter).
On 15.12.2016 we got a letter from bramhavar mescom that a penalty amount of rs 1, 28, 790/- had to be refunded back to uttam agro industries (Letter 5211-213enclosed). But after 4 months the udupi mescom (Letter no : 9 enclosed) replies back saying the amount cannot be refunded as the party paid the penalty without any objection which is not true, as we have all the supporting documents submitted immediately after the penalty was charged on uttam agro industries.in reply to this letter we personally met the executive engineer o[censored]dupi mescom on 07.04.2017 and re submitted all the proofs and documents (Letter enclosed) but we have not received any reply from mescom udupi till date.
On 12.04.2107 we got a letter from bramhavar mescom addressed to udupi mescom (Letter no: 279-81 enclosed) requesting them to refund the penalty amount.
It is a sad fact that though it’s been nearly one and half year from now, still we have not received our amount back. Consider this as a kind request to do the needful and pay us back our duly owned hard earned money along with the applicable interest as soon as possible. The turmoil that we have undergone by going from office to office in this past 18 months cannot be expressed in words. We look forward to your reply for this letter at the earliest.
