In chikamagalur district there started a new trend where if in a building if few electricity bills are not paid for a successive 2 months then the power is disconnected from the pole for the whole building even if rest of all the tenants are paying their dues promptly. The authorities then suggest to clear all the bills (In one case just for a paltry sum of rs500) only then the power supply is restored. This is causing a huge problem to the prompt payers. Disconnecting power to selected defaulters is acceptable but how can the department penalise the prompt payers too just because they are in the same building for business? Further the building owner paid all the pending dues and produced the reconnection order from the head office even then the junior engineer did not authorise the reconnection process just to prove his ego. Is this how mescom treats it's consumers? Was this information helpful? | |||
