[Resolved]  Continental Packers And Movers — Non-Delivery of Consignment by Continental Packers and Movers

We have been cheated not once by twice by Continental Packers. First time we used them to transport kid’s bunk bed from Pune to Hyderabad. After giving follow-up calls for 2 weeks they deliver the bunk bed without a mattress. They kept arguing that there was no mattress. After a point we let go the issue. We didn’t want to base our opinion on one episode. Quite often even in our own jobs, we are good but screw up once in a while. Hence we decided to try Continental Packers the second time, just to realize that it has turned out to be a very painful experience. We used their service to transport a coffee table and study table from Pune to Bengaluru. It was a home to home delivery. They came to our home in Pune and plastic bubble wrapped both pieces of furniture. Just a bubble wrap!!! The concerned people convinced us that it would be packed in the warehouse, before loading it on the truck to Bengaluru. Again after follow-up calls for more than 10 days, they arrive at our apartment in Bengaluru with the 2 pieces of furniture. We were shocked to see that it was in a highly torn plastic bubble wrap. I couldn’t believe that they transported the furniture using just a bubble wrap. The coffee table, which is pretty expensive, was in 3 pieces and the top of the study table due to rain water had peeled off. Due to lack of packing the edges were completely chipped. I quickly called the person from Pune, Ashok on his cell. After a lot of debate I got off the phone by concluding that I won’t accept the delivery. I took pictures of the furniture, mailed it to Ashok and asked the delivery guys to take it back. Ashok & Sudeesh, the guys from Pune office acknowledge that it was a mistake from their end to send the furniture without any packaging. Now when I call them to either get the furniture fixed by a carpenter or settle with compensation, they aren’t answering my calls. Apart from the inconvenience, I have lost a lot of money – 6K in transport, 25K for the coffee table and 15K for the study table. I am seeking a logical conclusion to this entire ordeal.
