Municipal Corporation Of Greater Mumbai — Garbage Collection issue & Money Extortion by Garbage Collectors

Dear Sir/ Madam

My office is at below mentioned address in Mulund since 2.5 years, since 2.5 years we are facing serious garbage collection issue by BMC garbage collection department. The garbage collectors of BMC do not collect the garbage till the time the occupants / residents pays them hefty sum of money demanded by them only in CASH & they do not issue any receipt against the same, reason they give that as every society of Mulund pays them so even we have to pay them the demanded amount or else they will not collect the garbage even if BMC instructs them.

The money demanded from us by the BMC collectors is minimum Rs.7000 for 2 bags of garbage, infact due to our garbage piling issue we paid them for few months against which even after resistance by collectors we manage to took there signatures on few payment slips as proof. But suddenly they started extorting money in the name of Diwali / Holi & increased the charges from Rs.7000 to 10000 for every month collection, when we opposed the same they threw garbage of other places with foul smell on our office entry due to which we have to pay them the demanded money.

When told them that we need to raise our voice & complaint BMC dept. against this extortion they told that even there seniors gets money out of this & there will be no result in doing the same.

I request for intervention against this illegal extortion of money & help us to avail. our bare min. service requirement by BMC as tax payers.
