Nikon India — Product part stopped manufacturing, refusing to service

I had bought a Nikon D5100 which I purchased in 2012. The camera itself is an expensive one, and it was bought under the assumption that even if there is an issue with it in the future it could always be repaired by Nikon. My pop-up flash started malfunctioning recently and I had taken it to the service center in Bangalore. Later on, they have called me saying that they have discontinued the product and that part is not there. The fact is every successive iteration of D5100 is remarkably similar to the old one. Even if the product itself is discontinued you cannot stop making critical parts as there are thousands of customers using that product. They are asking me to upgrade the camera instead which itself is another expensive venture. I want a resolution to this, I want this camera fixed.
