Okinawa Electric Scooter — okinawa praise electric scooter

I bought this much advertised okinawa praise electric scooter in november 2018 for 91000 odd thousand rupees. The dealer suddenly realized that they have over charged me and refunded 6000 odd rupees.
I must say this scooter is manufactured in a haste to compete with competitors and have missed out on maintaining top quality and fiber parts keep falling off in a short span o[censored]sage and the electronics failed in just over a month o[censored]sage and when brought to the notice of the dealer and the company engineers they do not respond. Mr anthony lopes had purchased from you a brand new okinawa praise electric scooter and paid you in full an amount of rupees 90164/- (Ninety thousand one hundred and sixty four only) vide cheque from bank of india saligao branch for which you had provided the details being the total on road purchase price and there after you must have realized that the price quoted was much higher and you agreed to refund an amount of rupees 6604/- (Six thousand six hundred and four only) this is evident from the bank transfer that you effected in the same account that is bank of india saligao branch (Copy of pass book entries market and encircled are attached)

Although the cheque was received and creited into your account by you in the month of november, 2018 the delivery of the scooter was only given in december and registration was further delayed by another month due to reasons best know to you.

I am aware of the working of and electric scooter as i have had electric scoter bsa brand and have confidently used it for last several years until it reached its exhaustion of battery life of 4 years and the company closed down and no service was available.

After using this okinawa praise for a few days to be precise 11 days the front number plate fell of the bike when i was doing a distance of only 11 kilometres at an average speed of 40 kilometres per hour. I imediately informed the dealer and during my first service the dealer fixed it and i clearly remember he mentioned that the treading had become bigger than the bolt tread as the company engineers while assembling used mechanized screwdrivers and had used much higher torque and hence the treading had become big. Anyway as i was driving home after my first service the front number plate fell off the scooter once again and till date it cannot be fixed. I informed the dealer as evident from the whatsapp conversation attached herewith.

There after i had a rear tyre puncture and i was 5 kilometers away from the closest tyre puncture shop and i was 1 kilometer away from my house. It is this time that i realized that it is a professional job to dismantle the rear tyre and it is impossible for a layman to undertake the complicated job. I dragged the very heavy scooter to my residence and immediately called the dealer and they dealer assured me it is a easy job just call the puncture shop worker and he will fix it. I did drive with another scooter and brought in a puncture worker and he could not dismantle the rear tyre, and that is when i requested the dealer to give me the company engineers mobile number.

On line the company engineer gave me instruction to dismantle the rear tyre and believe me it is no ordinary job as you need to dismantle the tyre and open the entire seat and reach the underbelly of the scooter to reach the controller and you have to disconnect the controller to enable you to disconnect the main electric cable which leads to the motor dynamo on the rear wheel.

I related my comments to the engineer to do the necessary changes in their production of other okinawa scooters as it will benefit the others especially ladies who would be prospective users. I also brought to the notice of the company engineers that the front shock absorbers are very hard and that during riding this scoter on bumpy roads it hurts your wrists very badly and that they should rectify the fault at the earliest.

There after the side panel which is of fiber and is attached to the main chassis opened up and again when brought to the attention of dealer he admitted it is bad engineering. He fixed it only to open up again in a few days.

Then one day the dates are too frequent and and one after another so i cannot relate to one specific date i was driving to the furthest distance i have done on my praise that is from calangute to bambolim single seat and the scooter stalled in the middle of the road. I opened the seat and noticed the mcb had tripped and was warm so i rested for 30 odd minutes and started and finally completed y journey. I brought to the notice of the dealer who in turn related the incident to the company engineers.

Then on another day the scooter when starting refused to run in economy mode although the switch was showing the position as economy mode so again i informed the company who in turn related the matter to the company engineer and the engineer informed the dealer to change the mcb and the controller and the switch.

The dealer changed the mcb the controller but the switched they informed did not need to be changed. They wanted to bill me for this job which i refused and i informed that i have bought a new scooter so it is warranted for a year. (Copy of bill attached)

There after another underbelly fiber cover is falling off the scooter which was also brought to the notice of the dealer and during my second service i informed them but they refused to do the fixing of these fiber panels and since then i have stopped using the scooter as it is not road worthy. It is often the case that the rto officials connive with the manufacturers to certify the road worthiness of the vehicles for a remuneration and that is how the consumers end up with a sub standard product.

I am afraid of my life and am afraid that riding this sub standard not road worthy electric scooter i might endanger the life of other road users and destroy family earning members in case of any untoward accident.
