[Resolved]  Oyo Rooms — services were not given by hotel even after prepayment

I booked hotel bandhan at bahraich, uttar pradesh, from 18-19 sept 2019 via oyo (Booking id - wevr5361) and paid the full amount rs. 1383.00 in advance. When i reached hotel at 8 pm after my work hotel management denied to check in. Reason was told that they were not bound to provide rooms on oyo bookings. At that point of time i called oyo customer care. They talked to property manager for more than half hour and had no result. The management told lie to oyo customer care that they had water overflow in hotel so that they were unable to provide rooms to us. While at the same time they were providing rooms to other guests by counter booking. Oyo did not have any mechanism to verify this and they asked me to adjust my booking in any other property at bahraich. I had seen other properties empanelled with oyo and was not satisfied with quality so i denied to take adjustment. They gave me option to cancel the booking and refund the money. This whole process took one more hour and i had to waste my time till then. The refund was also not immediate and it was promised to be done within 7-14 days. I had to search another hotel at that time, had to pay more due to emergency and had no money in my card because refund was not done immediately. I asked oyo for compensation but they did not do anything. When a customer cancels a booking for any genuine reason the oyo managements deducts the cancellation charges but when they are unable to provide the room they dont pay any compensation at all. I had so much pain and trouble at that time.
