Paschimanchal Vidyut Vitran Nigam [Pvvnl] — complaint / grievance regarding improper working of electric meter. bill no. sba[protected] dated 23.07.2020

To whomsoever, respectable, it may concern,
Sir,
This is to humbly requested that the consumer has received the above bill for electricity consumed during the period 11.06.2020 to 23.07.2020 units arriving at 4130 resulting in an amount of rs. 30, 393/- payable by 30.07.2020.
We notice that the unit and respective payable amounting to rs. 30, 393/- are highly excessive and arbitrary. With this, it appears that there lies some mistake somewhere.
The set-up of my house style of consumption is uniform and almost identical for the last many years. The previous bill was dated 11.06.2020 for the period 08.03.2020 to 11.06.2020 i. E. For a period of electricity consumption i. E. 3 months & 3 days, in this period units consumed were 3974 and corresponding amount payable rs. 24481/- (A longer period due to covid 19 restriction. This calculates to approx rs. 8 thousand per month whereas, the caption bill is for 4130 units corresponding to rs. 30, 393/- for a period of 1 month & 12 days. This is accordingly too much disproportionate and extremely excessive while the home set-up and style of electric consumption remaining identically similar to previous month, year and since long. The earlier record is available with your office & may be subjected to judicious verification.
There was absolutely no special feature (Except lockdown period, but both the bills i. E. Last paid and disputed one covers the lockdown period similarly) in consumption of electricity.
My grievance is that the bill is for an exorbitant figure and needs your honour’s urgent attention to rectify the error and serve the figure of rectified bill for timely payment.in the meantime the payment of this bill may be kept in abeyance, or may be a token or average amount be required for prompt payment.
I may be permitted to request you that the meter is installed outside my home boundry since a pretty long time and that may require the re-check or testing, as you may feel proper but there is certainly some fault somewhere, as i presume. I have been watching the movement of consumption for last 2-3 days and feels that the meter is perhaps is not working properly and jumping off and on from time to time which is causing concern.
It is, therefore, requested that the meter may kindly be changed or alternatively a check meter may kindly be installed at our premises to resolve the issue.
