Dear sir/madam, Sub : pepperfry case ref. No. Wr[protected] I am retired commander who is 72 years of age. On 14 dec 2017 i purchased {invoice no. Pp/3503/17-18 (Order no:[protected]kd1498000-s-pm11193)} a "home belle stainless steel utensils kitchen rack (Sku: kd1498000-s-pm11193) from the pepperfry website. I purchased this item as pepperfry is considered to be a reputable store and the website clerly mentioned that the article is made of stainless steel. I paid rs. 811.00 for the item and it was delivered to my home a few days later. To my utter disappointment the article started rusting merely after a few days. I immediately registered a complaint with pepperfry for the inferior quality of their product and requested that i be allowed to return the item for a refund. I received an acknowledgement for my complaint on 31 dec 2017 and some one from the customer service called me up and said that my request is declined as the complaint was registered after the allowed period of Time. I am consultant engineer and tried to explain to him that the rusting is a slow process and become visible only after a period of time and i did make a complaint as soon as the rusting became evident. However he was not keen to address the issue. Pepperfry website has a provision for escalating the issue if it not resolved and i tried to escalate the issue only to realize that even though there is a provision to escalate the issue to founders / senior management this channel cannot be accessed to register a formal complaint. In my opinion, as pepperfry consider themselves to be a reputable retailer they should endeavour to live up to the expectations which consumers have. I consider that the response i received from a so called prestigious store is an unjustified solution. An item sold as made of stainless steel starts getting rusted in a period of one week can be attributed to no other cause but inferior quality and should have been taken more seriously by the management team. As i had mentioned i am a consultant engineer with years of experience in engineering and with out any doubt i can substantiate that it is the poor quality control by the procurement team that has led to such poor quality products being sold by pepperfry. I would therefore be most grateful this issue be taken up with pepperfry and suitably resolved.
