[Resolved]  Traffic Police Uttar pradesh — Unnecessary wasting public precious time

Address:Uttar Pradesh

Dear Sir/Madam,

My complaint is in regard with pollution expiry and traffic police is charging a challan against the car whose mileage is just 15000 kms.

I have purchased my car last year on 19th June 2011. So now my car is 1 year and 3 months old and the mileage of my Car is 15700 km.

I regularly keep PUC prepared, but this time it gets expired on 2nd November(4 days back) and today i.e. 7th November the traffic police cut a challan against the pollution expiry which they were saying is of Rs 1000. And I have tried to check this online if the charges are correct or not. But I didn't get any relevant document stating this kind of thing. I have spoken to Sanjay Kumar Upadhyaya who is Deputy Secretary in Transport Department, Lucknow. Even he is not sure of the charges but he has been a thorough gentleman, has given full attention to my concerns.

Basically my concern is that, even this is a good move by the Traffic police department that they had put such a big amount on the challan for not finding PUC with the Car driver. But if the conditions are perfect as per the Car is concerned and when the pollution was expiring just 3-4 days back only, then to cut a challan in such conditions will not give any lesson to the Public. But this is just you are disturbing the innocent public.

I will put this matter at India against corruption site and I will also ask my friend Arnab Goswami, who is the Editor-In-Chief in Times Now to actually do a debate on these common problems faced by people of India.

As this will take one half day to recollect the RC(registration certificate) from the specified place. And I dont know at this point of time, if I can get my RC easily by paying the challan charges.

I would like to state here that we should not ignore such things, as we (the innocent public) are going to be affected by this.

And also I like to mention one important point here- this challan has been issued in Noida, UP where the PUC remains valid for 6 months. And the PUC which I was holding is just 3 months and 4 days old only, still I have to suffer.

This is how a common man suffers................

Himanshu Gulati
