[Resolved]  Railway Reservation — Non refund of money against waitlisted ticket

Address:Mumbai City, Maharashtra

I have booked a ticket in 2nd AC from Balugan to Howarah vide transaction ID [protected] and PNR no.[protected] to travel by 12864 YPR HWH express. The ticket was in waiting list till the last date. Date of travel was 24 nov 2014. Hence I could not travel in the train on that day. I thought automatically I shall get the refund. But when I checked the refund status I found that no refund is made against the said ticket. In this regards I wrote to [protected]@irctc.co.in through my mail id [protected]@rediffmail.com on 07/12/2014. The complaint was acknowledged by auto reply mail [IRCTC #614202] Refund of money against waitlisted ticket. further vide email of dec 10, 2014, The answer was quote:Kindly note that the TDR filing time limit is revised w.e.f. 1/7/2013 upto 2 hours of the actual departure of the train in case of confirmed etickets & within 3 hours of the actual departure of the train in case of RAC or partial WL e-tickets .As the time for filing the TDR for refund has exceeded, we are unable to forward your case to Railways. In conjunction with above statement we would like to pass one information that if you face any problem in E-tickets like cancellation & Online **TDR** Filing then you have to send mail to [protected]@irctc.co.in from registered e-mail id and apart from these query **for booking related general queries like refund, ERS, online booking etc. **please send mail to [protected]@irctc.co.in. Thanks & [protected]@irctc.co.inPh:[protected]www.irctc.co.in[#614564]unquote: And subsequently I wrote from my registered mail Quote:Further I beg to state that1. I have not travelled in the train on the said day and on the same ticket2. No information via SMS or Email was given to me that either my berth is confirmed or even under RAC.3. As per the present ruling you say"Kindly note that the TDR filing time limit is revised w.e.f. 1/7/2013 upto 2 hours of the actual departure of the train in case of confirmed etickets & within 3 hours of the actual departure of the train in case of RAC or partial WL e-tickets .As the time for filing the TDR for refund has exceeded, we are unable to forward your case to Railways.for partially wait-listed ticket" hence my submission is that let IRCTC not make a business to get money on failure of any body to claim the money in time. a lot of constraint remains with him1. persons are not well informed.2. facility must be available at that time to raise TDR3. further the situation he faces because of nonavailability of ticket to proceed to the desired place by other means. In my case I was damn sure that once ticket remains in waiting list I must get the money back automatically without any fuss. Hence it is requested once again to process my case and return money due to me. It is a general practice that if waitlisted ticket is not confirmed we are not allowed even to board the train. Then it is not proper to return the money for waitlisted ticket and to bring unnecessarily the clause of filing TDR that to with such a small time limit of 3 hrs of departure of train seems to be unfair. Hoping to get back the refund am approaching you. regards. P K Mishra, [protected]
