Description of the Issue: During this journey, I experienced a near-death situation along with 39 other passengers (38 passengers + 2 conductors and driver). The air conditioning system failed, reportedly due to a gas leak, which was known to the conductor and driver from the start of the journey but was not communicated to passengers.
Instead of informing us before departure or at the first boarding point, we were only notified after an hour into the journey, well into the night and away from the city. Passengers were left in a closed, overheated environment for 6 to 7 hours, leading to extreme discomfort and safety concerns.
Despite raising this complaint during the journey, I have only received a token compensation of Rs. 200 (Rs. 100 per ticket) from Red Bus. This is unacceptable, especially given the severity of the situation and the danger posed to all passengers.
Furthermore, the customer support from Red Bus has been inadequate, with no escalation options available. I have encountered long wait times and unhelpful responses, with a single representative managing multiple calls.
Request for Resolution: I am seeking a full reimbursement of the ticket price and additional compensation for the distress and danger caused by this experience. I believe that both the operator and Red Bus hold responsibility for this incident, and it is imperative that passengers are informed of any issues prior to travel.
This complaint is being raised to protect consumer rights and to seek appropriate accountability from Red Bus and Padmavathi Travels.
