I own a Swift diesel car purchased in 2010 from Chennai. Number is TN 07___4793. I have been getting my car serviced through authorized dealers of Maruti Only till date. Last service was done through Sai Service, Andheri on 13 Feb 2021. Previous service was also done through Sai only. This time, the allotted personnel was of the intension of only increasing the bill amount and not for providing services.

1. At the time of booking for service itself, they had informed that for following COVID protocol, they will be sanitizing the car and the owner who is bring the vehicle need to follow protocols as suggested by them. Up on reaching the station, one person sprayed outer part of the vehicle for sanitization. While settling the bill, it was observed that for this spraying external surface, they had charged Rs.175/- + taxes and additionally, another item fumigation is done with out consent and charged Rs.850/- + tax. The technician allotted to me, was trying to convince me that the cost is for oiling / greasing the doors. ( i asked him whether the same is included as a part of normal service he told no). Later after making payment, I realized that the same was a cheating. After two days, when the person called me for feed back, I told him about the wrong approach. He said sorry, but of no use to me. I have already paid and lost.

2. While giving the car, I had advised for tyre rotation. While giving the car after service, I asked the technician, whether the tyre rotation is done. He told yes and he submitted, wheel balancing report also and charged for the same also. I had never asked for wheel balancing. Looking at the tyres, I had a doubt on his sayings, i opened the boot and checked the spare tyre. It was fresh one with out removing the sticker. I asked him, how this is possible, you told that you have rotated the tyres and charged for wheel balancing also and report is also attached. He said sorry and took the car inside the workshop ( asked me to wait outside) and got it changed.

3. I had raised a complaint of a sound from front side, some sound of belt. After inspection, he informed that A/c need to be serviced as the service was done 2 /3 years back as per the service records. He added cost for servicing a/c, gas topping up etc, I told him A/c is fine and gives good cooling, why should we poke and create damage to an item, when it is working fine. He convinced me that the A/c service is due other wise will end up in spending a huge cost. After the service, he told that the belt is intact and the sound is due to some major problem, which if we attend now, will be very costly, so let us run like this. The sound continued and yesterday, while driving on high way, the belt broke and it damaged the pulley also. After verification by a local technician, he told that the belt might have been loose and might have been making sound earlier, why you did not attend it and replace it, since the same is not replaced in time, the pulley is broken and for repair it costed Rs.3, 000/-.

I have realized one major lesson by giving car to M/s. Sai Services, Andheri that the interest is not for doing service properly, the interest is how to loot people. I told that technician, who called for a feed back also, about the worst experience, I had faced there. This time, if the bill is verified, there are some items, which never had a problem, but it is attended and charged. I got a bill of Rs.22, 461/-. Now when I verify, the items for which it is charged are not so important ones and he has identified the items with some fixed charges for a particular group of works. It is surprising to note that cleaning outside the car and inside the car is charged separately.

On the same day, my friends car was also give for service ( as we give together). For him also around rs.15, 000/- bill was raised. Last week when we changed tyre and went for wheel balancing, the person told that the front bush need to be replaced. The same was not even verified / detected at Sai, where as fumigation was done to the car as if, the car is used as ambulance.

Such type of cheating wanted to be reported to Maruti, and there are other dealers in the city to which I can try, and I will not ever dare to go to Sai Service.
