I bought a Samsung tv from a showroom. 10 months after the warranty period, the TV picture began to dim and it was impossible to view the screen. Samsung TV Engineer visited my home and prescribed replacement of ENTIRE PANEL for Rs.16, 000 which is half the price of tv. I searched the net for samsung tv reviews. It was anything but good. Almost all the cases were for panel replacement for every kind of repair with 3 months warranty for such replaced panel. In some cases, the owners were told to go for a new tv for non-availability of spares. I decided to be patiet. I first enquired private good tv mechanics in town. It took some considerable time - a fortnight. I entrusted the repair works to him. He diagnosed the tv to be one chip in power unit being busted. Within a day of diagnosis, he repaired the tv and my tv is back home running at a cost of Rs.1, 200/-. I don't know why SAMSUNG service engineers invariably go for replacement of panel at half the price of tv. Are they dumb or cheats or is it the policy of SAMSUNG to fleece customers? If SAMSUNG service doesnt help you, enquire for a good private tv mechanic and entrust the job to him. After all the goods were purchased with hard earned money. May be in foreign countries, the cost of the tv would be fraction of their salary. But for us it is sometimes twice the take home pay. It pays to be patience because by the time the tv was back in my home running, nearly one and a half months had elapsed. Was this information helpful? | |||
