[Resolved] Snapdeal.com — personal data compromised - no way to delete account and personal information | |
I used to have a mobile number in india before moving to the uk for studies. I gave up that number and some random guy from latur got that number from airtel. That guy used that number to order stuff online from snapdeal.com My bank account details, my home address in india, my personal information is shared with that stranger. Plus, his order was delivered to my home address, which clearly means that random guy was updated with my home address. This is major security breach. I tried deleting my account, there is no option of doing that on snapdeal. I contacted snapdeal. They do not have a solution to the problem (They do not understand the problem). They are trying to reach me on my old mobile number to speak to me is what the email said just now. What a shame. We do not have any regulations in india for companies to handle personal data.
