The 2015 regulation has drastically changed the grading system of the institute, this will give students of srm a great disadvantages in terms of placements and further studies, as other college and universities in india provide a grade point of 9.0 for marks above 80 while in srm grade point of 7.0 is provided for students scoring between 75-84. This students here face a great disadvantage of nearly 2 grade points while competing for higher studies and placements. They have changed the grading system from 2018 regulation. Actual sufferers are 2015 regulation students ie students who have joined between 2015-17. Please apply the new grading system atleast for 2017-18 students. Was this information helpful? SRM UNIVERSITY grading system of 2015 gives a 5.0 grade point for 55-64 which will greatly affect the students even for obtaining first class.No university in india is awarding 5.0 grade point for 60-64 marks and 6.0 grade point for 65-74 marks.The regulation also gives first class for above 6.0 grade point only and distinction for above 8.0 grade point only which will be a great disadvantage for students in higher studies and placements.Please atleast consider above 5.5 point as first class and above 7.5 point as distinction for the[protected] students who were greatly affected by nearly 2 grade points.
