Standard Chartered Bank — Incorrect information / false promises during account opening | |||||
Hi, I have opened salary account with Standard Chartered bank in September when they came to my office along with other banks like ICICI, HDFC and others. Standard chartered made lots of false promises and mis-sold product just to ensure they get some employees signing on to their accounts. We were promised reward points / cashback on their account which was much different to what we actually got. We were also promised Kindle as a free gift but this was also a false promise. I have been complaining since then (that is almost 6 months now). Regarding reward points / cashback, I closed my matter after bank apologiesed to me. However, on Kindle, till now they have not sent me the kindle nor they are confirming that it was also a false promise. I have sent many emails (through secure message of internet banking), called up custoemr service, spoken to my Relation Ship Manager and even Branch Manager is aware of the situation. However, even after 6 months, I have not got any update on Kindle or apologies saying this was another false promise from the person who signed-me up for the account. My account was opened at Kalyani Nagar branch, Pune. Relationship Manager Ankush and Branch manager knows about the case. And even after formally complaining there is no response for last 6 months. I was expecting a higher level of service from Standard Chartered compared to other banks but looks like our Indian banks are more honest and better in customer service. Even the online banking features are very limited in Standard chartered compared to other Indian banks. Was this information helpful? | |||||
